At Adeas our core business is helping customers with development and engineering of electronic products, embedded systems, boards or modules. We can offer entire development projects from a feasibility or proof of concept up to the manufacturing of the end product including aftercare and life cycle management. However many Adeas projects entail only a portion of this whole spectrum. For instance, the design of firmware IP modules in an FPGA or a high-speed board to challenging specifications. Each perfectly tested and integrated into a product or system.

Our team of experienced and specialized professionals have executed well over 500 development projects over the years covering a wide array of disciplines and technologies which we have used in projects throughout a number of markets. The Adeas offices and labs are equipped with advanced high-end tooling and equipment that enable us to design and implement to meet very demanding requirements.

We like to work closely with our clients to ensure optimal results and integration, not only on a technical level but also on a quality and business level. We can adapt to specific wishes regarding the business model, IP ownership, preferred suppliers and the development process. Even the use of specific tooling, component libraries and documentation standards for compatibility reasons is open for discussion.

Process flow

At Adeas the various disciplines involved in the engineering stage work together and often in a concurrent way. This means work on electronics, firmware, software and mechanics is done simultaneously. To optimize this way of working continuous testing and daily communications are very important. To make this possible, ensuring the quality of the end result and making optimal use of the technical competence of the individual designers, we implemented a development process that can be tuned to the size and scope of individual projects. A milestone structure is in place to validate intermediate results.

Turn Key Projects

Adeas can execute ‘Turnkey’ projects. This means taking full design responsibility and delivering directly resellable systems, products or IP solutions. Based on a mutually validated set of requirements or specifications, our client can expect us to execute the entire project without making significant use of his valuable human resources.
Architecture, engineering and industrialization choices are decided by technological options, production cost, product test strategy, time to market, and serviceability. Also taking into account expected sales quantities and longevity, Adeas designs and realizes an optimal result. This can be a totally dedicated development or an integration of commercial off-the-shelf available modules integrated with Adeas hardware, software, and firmware. Of course getting the required CE/ FCC approvals is also part of the deal.

IP Cores

Adeas has developed a number of IP cores for integration in an FPGA or SoC. These IP cores enable a customer to build a proprietary product while reducing development costs and time to market.

The IP cores meet the applicable standards, are fully tested and well documented. These IP cores are also validated in various Interop meetings and plug fests against products from other vendors.

  • Ethernet packet handling: IP FRAMER, to format UDP/IP packets

  • Ethernet packet handling: IP FILTER, to filter and distribute IP packets

  • RTP Failsafe: Provides seamless protection functionality at RTP level (2022-7)

  • SMPTE ST2022-6 and ST-2022-8: SDI formatted signals over IP in a ST2110 environment

  • Frame Buffer: Video frame synchronizer for adapting video timing

  • SDI Bridge: Send and/or receive SDI streams

Adeas has teamed up with Nextera Video to offer a supplemental AMWA-NMOS: “Networked Media Open Specification to control media flows” software library to provide a complete video over IP solution.
